Dr. Steven Funk is the founder and chairman of Grand Marais Investments Ltd., a private equity investment company. He is Chairman of Imperial Parking (Hong Kong) Ltd., Aspen Properties Ltd., and CML Global Capital Ltd., controlled by Grand Marais. Grand Marais also controls a critical timber and environmental rainforest project of some 100,000 acres in Central America (www.balamjungle.com).

Dr. Funk is a member of the World President’s Organization (WPO), a director of the WPO Foundation, a YPO alumnus, and a founder, director, and officer of the President’s Action Network Chapter of WPO. He and his wife, Elizabeth, founded The Dignity Fund, a microfinance debt fund.

Dr. Funk is an active participant in the Prince of Wales Foundation. He founded Aspen Properties in 1997, which today owns and manages one of the largest portfolios of commercial real estate in western Canada (www.cmlglobal.com). Dr. Funk holds an undergraduate degree with honors from Purdue University and master’s and doctorate degrees from the University of Iowa.
