As part of this growth plan, Ujjivan needs to hire ‘Chief of Field Audit’ to lead the audit department of a dynamic and rapidly growing microfinance organization.
The Chief of Field Audit will fill a critical role on the company’s National Leadership Team, and will be a thought leader on all major institutional decisions.

Key Accountabilities:
The Chief of Field Audit will report the Audit Committee supervised by Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer

Hiring Specifications:

  • A post graduate in any field
  • 5 – 10 years of field experience in a microfinance institution, or similar audit experience in a financial institution
  • Personal integrity and an ability to provide an objective viewpoint
  • An inquisitive mind, desire to work with the poor, and an interest in field work will be prime requirements of the incumbent

Responsibilities:

  • Create an annual plan of audits for all branches / regions, and oversee its implementation.  The Plan must cover existing processes and leave room for unforeseen needs, it should incorporate the outcomes of a pilot loan portfolio audit in the overall scheme of the audit process
  • Devise a workable methodology for capturing all irregularities during the audit process, and quick rectification of irregularities. Major issues, trends may be reflected in a concise / incisive audit report
  • Devise a branch rating system that makes the process of branch assessment objective. All audit reports will be submitted to the audit committee of the Board for review, and will draw to their attention any significant findings on the condition of field processes, staffing, and field supervision
  • Develop a comprehensive “Audit Manual” that includes existing guidelines, procedures, and field experiences from the audit process.  The Manual should also incorporate findings from the Loan Portfolio Audit
  • Recruit, develop, and maintain a high-performing team of stable audit professionals. The staff and the department should be able to interact with all levels of personnel and all departments in an amicable manner, with particular attention to the credit department and field staff.


Location
: Position would be based out of Bangalore Head Office and would involve working on field in close coordination with field staff
