We are thrilled that Mimo Finance has agreed to host our group and introduce us to their innovative work in both rural and urban areas. Mimo is a great example of a small MFI with huge potential, given the right kind of support from Unitus.

During our visit, we will meet with Mimo’s charismatic CEO Manab Chakraborty and senior leadership, as well as participate in weekly loan repayment meetings with Mimo’s clients. We will meet these brave and resourceful women, visit their businesses, and hear firsthand how loans as small as $100 have changed their lives.

Location: Northern India

Mimo finance is located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Dehradun is in the foothills of the Himalayas and a one-hour flight from Delhi.

Tourism: Dehradun (and surrounding areas) and Agra

While at Mimo, we will take some time to explore this beautiful region filled with temples, bazaars, the Ganges River, and more. After our time with Mimo is complete, those participating in the optional tourist excursion will travel to Agra to see the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort, two World Heritage sites.

Donation

Unitus Microfinance Trips are intended to give current and potential supporters a deeper understanding of microfinance as they consider their personal commitment. Specifically, trips are arranged for renewing Empowerment Circle members or those planning to join by the end of 2009. If you would like to join us but are unsure of your commitment level, we would be pleased to discuss your expectations and how we might accommodate them.

Registration: Begins February 1

To reserve your spot, please complete the Trip Application form and submit it with a $500 non-refundable deposit. Trip size will be limited to 12 participants (excluding our hosts), so you will want to reserve your spot as quickly as possible.
