7.08.08 | Samhita Microfinance Wins Microfinance Business Plan Competition Award

Unitus congratulates Samhita Microfinance on winning the “Most Promising Business Idea - I” award at the prestigious Srijan 2008 Microfinance Business Plan Competition. Samhita delivers innovative microfinance services in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, and has been a Unitus partner since early this year.

The competition—organized by Intellecap and Aavishkaar Goodwell Microfinance Development Company in partnership with The Financial Express—was held to highlight the "best ideas for reaching India's financially excluded. . . It helps put the spotlight on emerging and established enterprises that could directly or indirectly create opportunities for greater financial inclusion."
